ANN HALLENBERG WINS INTERNATIONAL OPERA AWARD
On Sunday 15 May 2016 at The Savoy Theatre, London, the winners of the International Opera Awards were announced in a ceremony. The awards have been compared to the Oscars and Tonys for opera and are meant to recognize the best in the art form.
Ann Hallenberg's CD "Agrippina" won the award for "Best Operatic Recital". The disc, with music by Handel, Porpora, Telemann, Graun and others, is released by Deutsche Harmonia Mundi and joining Ann Hallenberg are the Italian ensemble Il Pomo d’Oro and the conductor Riccardo Minasi.
This is Ann Hallenberg's second win in the category "Best Operatic Recital", having also won in 2014.
