Helge Rønning has worked with conductors such as Rinaldo Alessandrini, Giancarlo Andretta, Alfredo Bernardini, Fabio Biondi, Baldur Bronnimann, Francesco Corti, Ottavio Dantone, Bernhard Epstein, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Yoel Gamzou, Leopold Hager, Olaf Henzold, Mihkel Kütson, Stephen Layton, Reinbert de Leeuw, Eduardo López Banzo, Juanjo Mena, Lars Ulrik Mortensen, Kirill Petrenko, Joshua Rifkin, Andras Schiff, Peter Schreier, Stefan Solymon, Christoph Spering, Andrew Wilder, Johannes Wildner and Nicolaj Znajder.
Helge Rønning has a vast concert repertoire including masses, oratorios, cantatas and symphonies by Monteverdi, Bach, Handel, Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, Rossini, Schubert, Mendelssohn, Dvořák, Mahler, Orff, Honegger, Ramirez and Britten.
Engagements in the season 2010/11 included Le Berger in Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex with Bergen National Opera, Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde in Schönberg’s setting in Brussels as well as in Stavanger with the conductor Yoel Gamzou and in Bodo with the conductor Reinbert de Leeuw, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solenelle in Oslo, Monteverdi’s Maria vesper in Bergen as well as in Skien, and Bach’s St John Passion in Bergen.
Assignments in the season 2011/12 included Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde in Schönberg’s setting in Oslo, Skien and Moss with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, a staged version of Bach’s St. John Passion in Tromsoe, Bach’s Magnificat with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Bodoe, Mozart’s Requiem in Trondheim, Handel’s Messiah in Bergen, and Haydn’s Missa Cellensis in Oslo.
Current and upcoming engagements include Beppe in I Pagliacci and 1:Jude in Salome at the Norwegian National Opera, Bach’s St John Passion in Bodoe and Bach’s Christmas Oratorio in Sandnes.
